New Australian feeder fund provides wholesale investors access to Warburg Pincus' global private equity platform.
Sydney, 5 August 2026 – Australian wholesale investors can now access Warburg Pincus’ global private wealth platform, the Warburg Pincus Private Equity Access (WP ACE) Fund (the ‘Fund’), through a feeder fund distributed by Continental Funds Group and issued by Channel Investment Management Limited as responsible entity.
The Fund is an open-ended Australian unit trust providing exposure to a diversified portfolio of global private equity investments sourced and managed by Warburg Pincus, one of the world’s leading private equity investors. The Fund provides investors with access to a range of companies across global sectors, including financial services, healthcare, industrials and technology throughout North America, Europe and Asia Pacific.
The launch comes at a time when advisers are increasingly seeking ways to diversify portfolios beyond traditional equities and fixed income, particularly as more companies remain private for longer and a growing share of economic value creation occurs outside public markets.*
The Fund offers indirect access to the same deal flow, underwriting process and investment platform used across Warburg Pincus' global private equity business. The underlying strategy launched with a seasoned seed portfolio of private equity assets, providing immediate exposure to around 190 companies across sectors, geographies and vintages from day one – helping to mitigate the J-curve and deployment risk typically associated with private equity investing.
While many private equity managers are closely associated with leveraged buyouts, Warburg Pincus has built its reputation as a global growth investor. The firm partners with management teams to help businesses scale and create long-term value through operational improvement, strategic support and deep sector expertise.
"Warburg Pincus has spent 60 years focused on a simple idea: identifying exceptional businesses, partnering with management teams and helping them grow," said Christopher Turner, a Warburg Pincus Managing Director and CEO of the Warburg Pincus Access Fund.
"We think of ourselves as a partnership-driven, middle-market-focused global growth investor, with the scale and flexibility to back businesses through different phases of growth. Australian investors now have a gateway to the same investment platform, disciplined investment process and global opportunity set that has supported our institutional private equity business for decades."
Angus Coote, Managing Director at Continental Funds Group, said the launch reflects a broader evolution in adviser demand and the calibre of global managers increasingly seeking Australian distribution partners.
"Advisers are increasingly looking for ways to access growth opportunities beyond listed markets, but they also want diversification and institutional-quality managers," Mr. Coote said.
"What differentiates Warburg Pincus is not simply its scale, but the type of private equity exposure it provides. For 60 years, the firm has focused on growth investing – backing businesses benefiting from powerful structural trends and partnering with management teams to help them scale. For advisers, this provides access to a different part of the private equity market than traditional buyout strategies, alongside a globally diversified portfolio of companies, sectors and vintages."
Mr. Coote said the launch also reflects Continental's broader strategy of partnering with globally recognised investment firms rather than simply bringing additional products to market.
"Our focus is on identifying high-quality global managers with established track records, deep institutional capabilities and genuinely differentiated investment expertise. Warburg Pincus is a strong example of that philosophy in action and provides Australian wholesale investors access to an opportunity set that has historically been difficult to access."
Research ratings are currently in progress, with availability across selected adviser platforms expected shortly.
